Food, glorious food « Thread Started on Feb 14, 2008, 7:55pm »
Sherry laughed with him, it wasn’t really funny, but at the same time it was, not that that made any sense at all. Maybe his laugh was contagious, even if it wasn’t long or really loud. Why was she so nervous? Probably a lot of factors, e.g. being in an insane asylum, walking next to a handsome man, who also happened to be a weretiger. This sure was going to be an interesting experience. “Thank you,” she said as he opened the door for her. She looked at all the people in the cafeteria and thought, Finally! Some food! I am starved. It seemed as if she hadn’t eaten in days, but her abilities, even if not used, took a lot out of her. “So what food is normally here?”

Despite the fact that he appeared to be quite calm and settled, he still hadn't got used at all to the whole apparently being insane thing. Although at times he could be a teeny weeny bit paranoid, or depressed, or hyper, or silly, some of the time, like right now, he was sensible, quiet. For all he knew, she could have been a raving lunatic, but he was quite prepared to accept her at face value, and was interested in having a sane friend, on the surface if nothing else.
"All kinds of things really, but I tend to stick to chips."
Daniel said with a cute grin, waiting as a very annoyed looking woman in an apron put two bowls of chips in front of them, one in front of him, the other in front of her. Taking the one that was in front of him, he picked up one of the chips, looking rather suspicious of it before he ate it, kind of disappointed that it wasn't piping hot. Oh warm food, probably a lot to ask for around here.
She looked around at the different foods, and at the chips in front of her. It was the only thing that looked somewhat appetizing, but she was so hungry, she would eat anything. She got some salad with some dressing and a couple of pieces of fruit and a glass of milk.
"Ever offer anything that seems more edible? Don't suppose they do." Her head was still spinning from everything, she longed to be asleep, but she was used to staying up despite the exhaustion.
The first week he had been here, used to far nicer food, he had shifted to his tiger form and tried to go hunting in the gardens. Unfortunately the only things to hunt were grass, or other were-animals and shifters. So as one could imagine, that hadn't gone all that well, and he had had to go back to the cafeteria to try and work out what was horrible food, and what was okay food. Holding the bowl in one hand, he continued to eat the chips, feeling completely starving himself, but then again most were-animals ate a hell of a lot. They had to, because they burned more energy quicker, and were stronger and faster, so had to compensate food wise.
"If they do, I haven't found it yet."
He said briefly in between eating the chips, trying to eat them as quickly as he could, without actually 'stuffing his face' as such, because they were cooling down even more quickly. He didn't have anything to drink because he had drunk a lot of water earlier. Apparently were-animals could live on blood alone, but so far, whenever he had tried that, he still found himself constantly restless, so he mostly survived on actual, regular human food.
"So... What do you like? Like in general?"
He asked curiously, trying to think of something to start a conversation with.
