Aubrey flung his room door open with Ollive in tow. He quickly let his gaze linger around it for a moment or two, trying to decide if it were presentable enough or not. It all seemed intact for the most part, aside from the abundance of dominoes, puzzle pieces, Barbie’s, G.I Joes and dolls, Legos, checkers, tractors, cards, board games and other various types of toys laying around the room. But the bed was made, all of his garments and attire were in their proper places; it looked respectable enough for company, from what he could see, anyways.

I have army men.

Aubrey commented as he held the door open for his guest to enter. He was already planning on how he could defeat him, all Ollive had to do was agree. But if he rejected that idea, that would be fine, as well, Because there were various other methods in which Aubrey might crush him.

As soon as he stepped through the door, however, the first thing that Aubrey went to was his baby wipes. He pulled on out of its conveniently placed container and began to diligently wipe his arms, legs, neck and torso down, as if he had dirtied himself in some way, rather than simply walking around the institute. But right now, he didn’t care. It felt as if there were bugs crawling all over his skin. He wish he was allowed to have his Purell, but unfortunately, they took it away from him when he first came here. Afraid he’d get high off of it or something retarded like that.

Aubrey supposed that it was obvious that he was a Mysophobic, but he indistinctly wondered if Ollive was bright enough to pick up on it, even if it was so apparent. Maybe here, Ollive would have the chance to redeem himself. Perhaps if he acted like himself, Aubrey might eventually like him, even if it were only a little.

Ollive carefully followed Aubrey down the hall and placing how to get to him room within his memory. At least now he had a precise map in his mind of how to get there. When Aubrey opened the door and showed how his room was tidy compared most he had seen, he looked to his boots for a moment and noticed he still had a little mud on them from earlier. He looked to his new ‘friend’ before taking out a black cloth a large pocket on his vest. He swiftly took off his shoes and walked in with his boots in hand. He placed the cloth in a corner of the room before setting his boots on it. His moved his feet for a moment with bright blue socks on them. He looked back to Aubrey once more and spoke calmly.

“Your room’s very clean and I got mud on my boots earlier. I didn’t want to tack it in here and mess up the floor.”

He felt a little proud of himself with what his poppie had taught him. He looked at the assortment of toys and thought of what Aubrey had said.

“I’m not allowed to play with toys like that. My poppie said it brings out the violent part of us and we should avoid it at all costs. I’m sorry, but we can play something else.”

He had a weak smile on his face as he relaxed more. He like the way the room felt, kind of like his drawing room back home. He took Aubrey’s Mysophobic behavior to thought before touching anything in the room. He had a feeling he was going to need to clean his hands before playing with anything in the room.

Aubrey supposed that Ollive’s words held some truth behind him. But he wasn’t convinced all the way. He didn’t play with his army men in such a crude manor that it would just be totally worthless with no stimulation at all. He played it in a manor more similar to chess. He would set up his troops in their proper regiments, and different types of reinforcements. And he wouldn’t reveal to his opponent any of his plans either. Back home, he’d dig up different land types, to make it more real, and so he could figure out ways to over come the problems. He’d even dig trenches and set sticks up around hills. At one point, he recreated the whole Revolutionary War. And after that, he had tried to figure out how to make the British defeat the United States. So he more so just used them as more of a type of way to strengthen his problem solving skills, rather than bring out the violent part in him.

But Aubrey simply nodded at Ollive’s decision to not play with the army men. He could settle on some other game. Maybe Risk? It was a game about “world Domination”, but the way that Aubrey played it, it was more so about finding Peace. But Ollive would probably reject that too.

I have a 15,000 piece puzzle.

Aubrey stated monotonely as he slipped off his orange flats and placed them under his bead with the rest of his shoes. He was referring to a puzzle that showed the image of a jungle and an assortment of animals inhabiting it. It probably took up a lot of room, so they’d have to do it in the hall way out side of his room. But that would be alright, if Ollive agreed, that is. He’d done one with his mother and his friend whom had had gonorrhea, but that was when they were much littler. It brought back fond memories, like his heart was bursting. It would probably put them in a good mood if they completed it.

Do you want to?

Aubrey question, his foul mood was disappearing already, now that there was only the two of them, and Ollive was in a mostly-good mood, anyway. He had also appreciated it that he had taken off his shoes before walking into the room. Most people were to rude to think to do that in the first place.

((If they did it in the hallway in front of his room, they wouldn't have to go back to the other place, right?))

His eyes lit up at the word puzzle. He was trying very hard not to start ranting on and on. Somehow was able to keep his words calm, yet it held some happiness in it.

“Sure, I love puzzles. What’s the theme of this one?”

He had his hands behind his back and was standing calmly, but his foot was tapping softly on the floor. His eyes wondered around the room for a moment when he remembered he had one of his all time favorite toys with him. He had a nice smile on his face as he searched his pockets.

“But before we play with that, I wanna show you something I think is really cool.”

He pulled out a brightly coloured rubrics cube from one of his vest pockets. (There more like endless black holes attached to his vest) he held it out to show it was all mixed up and none of the same color were together. He had a glint in his eye before taking the cube back into both hands.

“Now watch this.”

His face became blank and eyes dull as he focus on the cube. His hands started twisting the cubes sides quickly and precisely. Within one minute all the colours were matched up on different sides. He held the cube out once more and had his bright smile on his face.

“See? I told you I’m good at puzzles, mainly brain teasers.”

He seemed proud of himself as he remembered his first puzzle that his father had given him. It was imported from China and became his most prized toy he had. He shook the thought off when he started missing his father.

Aubrey nodded his head, but he wasn’t really convinced. Being able to complete a Rubik’s cube wasn’t all that phenomenal, let alone impressive. Yes, there were strategies involved, but as soon as you memorized the way to position three corners and then understood that there was a ‘working’ corner, it was as easy as one, two, three. It’s just that seventy-three percent of the world was too lazy, either that or smart enough to get caught up in such useless tasks. Completing a Rubik’s cube only teaches you repetition, and barely any strategy at all. And other than that, Ollive had done it in at least a minute. That isn’t a very stellar time, barely even decent. But Aubrey decided to not point it out.

Do you like riddles?

Aubrey carefully asked, his head slightly tilted. He knew a lot of them, some of them easy, but mostly hard. He was fabulous at riddles. Or even Brain Teasers and puzzles. He supposed he had good problem solving skills. It even showed when he was playing with his other toys. He’d set them up in position where they’d have to use their skills to overcome it. But, he couldn’t quite decide which to ask though. He’d pick a moderately easy-ish one, though. That would be all right, he supposed.

Take 9 from 6, 10 from 9, 50 from 40 but leave 6 in all.

This one involved math and Aubrey had gotten it. So it wasn’t Marjory difficult because he really wasn’t wonderful at math problems. The thing was, though, was you rather had to have a sideways look on things. Not direct and obvious like most people.

Can you get it?

Aubrey asked with a slight smirk on his face.

He blinked his eyes for a moment as he put his toy away. He had never really done riddles, mainly puzzles with his hands. He listened carefully to Aubrey before sitting down on the floor. His face was blank and eyes dull. His knees were pulled to his chest as he focused on the riddle. He had most of it solved; at least the first two parts, but he couldn’t get the last part for some reason. He looked out the corner of his eyes to Aubrey, his hair covering his right one. His voice was soft and almost soundless.

“I solved the first two parts, but can’t understand the last set of numbers for some strange reason.”

He stood up and looked at the puzzle and then to Aubrey. His face was still blank and voice soft, but his eyes looked like they were still working on the riddle. He stared at Aubrey blankly before speaking again, only louder then before.

“Why don’t we play with the puzzle now?”

He walked over to the container with the baby wipes and cleaned his hands before carefully picking up the puzzle box and standing before Aubrey. He blinked blankly at Aubrey, some colour returning to his eyes. He soon stared into Aubrey‘s eyes with out even realizing it. He just waited for him to tell him they could go play.

Aubrey laughed aloud, knowing fully well that Ollive was lying. If you were to get the first two parts, then the rest of the riddle was painfully obvious. This was part of Ollive that Aubrey just couldn’t stand. He wouldn’t let his shield down and let himself lose. Losing wasn’t for the weak, being in denial about it was. And Ollive definitely was in denial. But Aubrey wouldn’t let on that he knew, just yet.

Oh? Well, what did you get?

Aubrey thought this over for a moment. It was a bit mean to make Ollive just come out and say that he was lying. He didn’t like making people embarrassed just to spite them. He wasn’t really the type to do that. He hated people whom would act in such foul ways, just to make themselves feel better about their own selves. And even though there were times that he caught himself acting in such way, he would usually always go back and fix his terrible mistake. And besides, he didn’t mind letting go of his pride every once in a while, he supposed.

On second thought. How about you give me a riddle and if I get it wrong, I’ll tell you the third part? Hmm? How does that sound?

Aubrey smiled, semi-genuine. Ollive’s happy mood was getting the better of him and he always enjoyed a good, hard riddle. Even if he got it wrong, he was always able to add it to his little list. But afterward, he’d allow them to do the puzzle. It had been bugging him for a while now, since he hadn’t even started it yet.

He placed the box back down and listened carefully to Aubrey. He stared at him confused for a moment. He was never taught riddles while he was growing up. His eyes were glassed as he spoke.

“I don’t know any riddles. My governess or poppie said anything about riddles of any kind.”

He was being truthful in every way he could be. He was sitting on the floor once more as he thought of his many different governess his poppie sent to him every few weeks. He more then likely looked empty at the moment while he stared out into space somewhere.

“Did you have many friends when you were growing up?”

He turned back to face Aubrey with such a dullness to his stare you would think he was dead. His thoughts were now focusing on this question for himself when a girl in black stepped into the doorway with no shoes.

“Um, hi. I Tear. I felt strange aura from room. Is any person sad or remembering sad things?”

Tear’s tail was wrapped tightly around her waist as she squeezed her doll D close to her chest. Her scales glittered some as her hair framed her face and braid hung to the floor. She stood there awkwardly while she waited for an answer, if any.

Aubrey shook his head in a sympathetic way as he listened to Ollive speak. He always felt compassion for those deprived of stimulation. Not that Ollive was, deprived, but he had a total lackage of stimulation in the form of his favorite kind. And Ollive’s mood was shifting downwards, and it was bringing Aubrey down with it, and he definitely wasn’t enjoying that, not one bit.
Poor deprived little baby.

He said this in a monotone voice. Aubrey wasn’t being mean right now, he more so was just talking to him like he would to someone he like, a little, at least. Aubrey held his arms open to the taller boy and he gently placed an awkward hug around him, as if offering friendship, or at least a peace treaty. Ollive seemed like he was needing a big old-fashioned bear hug, and Aubrey was willing to give it. He didn’t know why, but it was as if their moods had switched, but Ollive was being such a downer, and Aubrey was prepared to cheer him up.

My mother. And a kid my age.

Aubrey nodded, referring to his best friends. Just thinking about them made him feel gloomy, but he pushed it aside. He’d gotten over it a long time ago.

They’re both dead.

Aubrey said this with a sad smile. However, he didn’t want to linger on the memories. Just as he was about to mention the puzzle, a girl with a gorgeous set of eyes entered the room. She held a doll and had a bizarre tail wrapped around her waist as she spoke.

Do you want to play with this puzzle with us?

Aubrey ignored her question with a straight face and a monotone voice yet again. He thought it best if anymore sad feelings were brushed away. He couldn’t handle so many gloomy people in such a confined space, it was so totally aura disrupting.

((Sorry for the short, sucky post. ha ha.))

His eyes gained there colour as they went wide from the sudden hug. He looked to Aubrey in shock at how he was the one being happy now. His eyes flickered to the girl in the doorway for a moment to see her nod at Aubrey’s question. He stood up slowly, his mood changing again as he walked over to the others. He suddenly hugged Aubrey from behind and lifted him off the floor slightly. He held a big smile on his face as he placed a friendly kiss on the top of his friend’s head before putting him down.

“I was starting to think you didn’t like me, but I guess I was wrong!”

He giggled softly as Tear just blinked her eyes at how happy Ollive had suddenly become.

She stepped back some and giggled at them. She tried to smile, but only exposed her shark-like teeth in a frightening manner.
“Um, so we play puzzle now? D is getting fussy.”

When she said that, her doll D started squirming in her arms and muttering under his breath. She squeezed him some and was able to get him to calm down for a little longer. She let her tail come from around her waist and let it sway behind her slowly like that of a cat’s tail.

Ollive was still cheery about Aubrey’s hug and just barely notice the doll squirm in Tear’s arms.

Aubrey laughed quietly at Ollive when he spasmodically became cheerful again. That just shows you how much as what a simply hug could do to a persons frame of mind. He didn’t mind Ollive being joyful again, though. But what he did mind, however, was all the skin cells that olive haphazardly transmitted to him. He would have to warn him about his phobia, but right now, he’d let it slide. But what he would cleanse himself of the germs with his baby wipes. Him doing this fortunately, would politely show Ollive that he didn’t enjoy the skin contact, but without him having to outright say it in front of another person and perhaps not embarrass him.

It was times like these that Aubrey really hated his phobia. It prevented any physical touching most of the time. Well. That’s not entirely correct he supposed. The pleasure that he received when he had sex far exceeded his fear of dirt and skin cells. It’s the thing that he could do that would make his happiness exceed that of the other emotions everyone around him were feeling and he could temporarily forget everyone else’s problems, for at least a little bit, at least.

After wiping most of himself clean with his baby wipe, however, instead of verbally greeting the new girl, Aubrey simply turned his head in her direction and offered her a slight chin-tilted in her direction. But then took the puzzle from Ollive’s hands.

Yeah? Let’s go to the hall.

But that was all Aubrey said, still in his monotone voice. Probably the second thing the girl heard him say. He must’ve seemed like a prick in her eyes, but Aubrey really didn’t give a shit what she thought of him.
